Skeena Series Casting

Of course, RST doesn’t just provide rods. Some of the best fishing reels available are also made by RST. Custom fabricated using space age technology, each reel is beautifully crafted with specifications to meet the particular requirements demanded by top anglers. They provide excellent performance in either fresh or salt water and are unaffected by temperature variations.

All RST equipment is designed to perform in the harshest conditions. Rods are flexible but strong. Reels are smooth and positive. All RST gear comes with a lifetime warranty. All component parts are individually serial numbered for the security of the purchaser.

RST rods and reels are designed to make novice fishermen better and experienced ones great. After fishing with RST, you’ll never go back to ordinary gear.

RST Mooching Reel

The RST Fishing Mooching Reel is a precision piece that combines high technology with a beautiful design. Each reel is made from a single block of high grade aluminum. The block is tested and relaxed before being used in the manufacturing process. The drag system is silky smooth, adjustable and completely sealed. RST mooching reels are totally salt water proof. A neoprene case is included with the reel that covers the unit, even when it is installed on a rod. This helps to preserve the beautiful finish.

RST mooching reels are finished in a gold anodizing process. Because there is no lead in the aluminum blocks, the reels are satin finished, not gloss. The precision manufacturing process produces a reel of high quality which is evident in every view. The protective anodizing process is applied to the reel, both internally and externally. Notice the clean edges where machining has occurred. True craftmanship goes into the construction of the RST mooching reel.

RST Skeena Series Single Hand 7′ – 210cm

This rod is a great choice for small rivers and streams due to the light weight and high flexibility. It is optimized for thin leaders and light flies and is designed to accomodate class 2/3 line. Built with the same carbon fiber materials found in the larger Skeena Series rods, this model is surprisingly strong for such a light unit.

The casting performance of the 7 foot Single Hand Skeena Series rod is extraordinary. It offers fast, progressive action when either casting or fighting fish. Both precise presentations and long distance casts are delivered with this rod. It is able to make any fly fisherman a better angler.

This model comes with both soft and hard cases. All 4 rod components are protected with unique serial numbers to help identify your rod in case of theft. Like other RST gear, the Single Hand Skeena Series fly rod is provided with a lifetime warranty.

RST Fishing Uses Custom Line Guides

RST Fishing continually evaluates available components. For the Skeena Series Fly rod, “Single Hand” model, the company was not able to find line guides that gave high enough levels of performance. Using their in house technicians, RST crafted their own custom guides to meet their exacting requirements. The resulting line guides are now installed in production “Single Hand” fly rods.

RST developed a new fly line guide that works well with the Skeena Series fly rod to reduce line slap. This increases both the accuracy and distance of casts. For those anglers interested in roll casting techniques, the new line guides bring a new level of performance to this useful fly fishing method.

RST has evaluated many other line guides available from many different equipment suppliers. While future changes may be made as appropriate, RST has found that line guides offered by Hopkins Holloway perform very well and are used in the Skeena Series rods, except for the “Single Hand” fly rod.

Anglers who have comments related to line guides, and line slap performance, are welcome to contact us to discuss these issues.
